Show, Don't Tell - Happy - By Aspen

Today we worked on painting a picture with words. We brainstormed what a person looked and sounded like when they were happy or excited. Then they rewrote the sentence: SHE WAS HAPPY.

Here's Aspen's:

"Yes!!!" I cheered Circle C seals have just won first place! We were just at the University of Texas to do the finals!I was smiling and clapping hard! The crowd was cheering "Yea!" It was amazing!

  1. The story started as a girl has a freind named Rudi.He was usually sick and she would stay with him when he was sick.Rudi and her built a bird feeder with a bottle and a straw. One day Rudi got very ill and his parents had to take him to the hospital. She found out he was having heart problems when he was born. The next day,Rudi died. The students built a pond to remember Rudi. She asked that if she could hang the bird feeder and the teachers said yes. Then a humming bird comes to her window and stares and then goes to the bird feeder. It came back the next day and did the same thing.
I thought the humming bird was Rudi because the bird came to her window every day.AND,it drank from the feeder, which they made together. That tells me that their freindship is very strong.
