In the begging of the book Rudi and his friend did everything together. In the middle Rudi got sick and started sinking. In the middle also Rudi dies In the every body makes a pond for him. Also every day a humming bird would come and eat out of the bird feeder Rudi and the girl made. But when she hears that rudi died, her whole class tries to make a memorial. third, the girl has an idea for an memorial. a pond. they put it by the tree that rudi and her used to climb on. when the cement was wet, the children would write there name on it. before rudi died, the girl and him made a bird feeder, but no bird ever came. then a hummingbird came and ate everyday on it. the girl thougt that was rudi, but it was impossible.
